roOm is a Christchurch-born photographer / artist. He’s interested in the anonymity that photography brings as when you take a photo, people focus on the image and the camera, not the artist behind it. 

He sees his role as an artist to create work that generates tension between the visible, the concept and the viewer. His works capture solitude and isolation in his images, showcasing scenes with remote or overlooked locations at dusk, dark or low-light. As a photographer, he does not want to alter the environment or recreate it, but to bring elements of humanity (good and bad) to the scenes and locations, using unusual props and the forgotten to talk about the world around us.
