Lee Pritchard, Hawkes Bay local, artist and photographer is not new to creating, having made copper sculptures and photographic images for display in local galleries over the years. 

In 2020 he self-published ‘A Couch Series’- a photographic showcase of 20 Hawke’s Bay creative men on their couches.  The book is available in the Pop Up Store.

Most recently Lee has crafted unique artworks from 100% recycled and found objects after Cyclone Gabrielle in 2023.   Amidst the debris washed up on Napier beaches pops of colours that were once beehives were noticed, collected and used in these creations. Each piece is unique and tells a story of this unforgettable event – from destruction comes beautiful artworks; in bauhaus ( bee’haus ) style;  ‘ Blue Flower’ symbolising hope and beauty and returning of the hives back to the bees via the flower.
