Lee’s work has been commented on as “paintings that reflect the essence of the subject enlivened with many subtle details, whilst creating imaginative colourful artworks”. She is an Elected Artist member of the NZ Academy of Fine Arts. 

Lee paints in acrylics and other media, and her earlier work was featured as published illustrations. More recently she has focused on landscapes, seascapes and peoplescapes.

“Art also requires you to pay attention – it is like meditation. Your mind has to be fully present. No holding back, but letting go and allowing something to flow through you”.
