Lee Russell

Lee paints in acrylics and mixed media, and oils with brush and palette knife.

Her original technique and style have developed through experimentation and extensive participation in many workshops and classes, spanning a period of over thirty years. Her paintings of landscapes, children and other subjects have hints of three dimensional qualities.  Being romantic and slightly surrealistic in style, they capture differing moods, using the daily and seasonal variations in light source to energise the visual experience.

The paintings are not meticulously planned, but rather guided by intuition and profound emotional connection.

Lee is an Elected Artist member of the NZ Academy of Fine Arts and a past president of the Taranaki Society of the Arts
