Born in 1977 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Mauricio Benega moved to New Zealand in 2004 and now lives and works as a full-time artist in Hastings.

In 2001, Mauricio graduated with a degree in Visual Arts & Computer Graphics from the University of Tuiuti Parana in Brazil. He has also completed a post-graduate degree in School Administration & Visual Arts in 2004 at the FAE Business School in Curitiba, Brazil. And he holds a diploma in Visual Effects & Motion Graphics from the Media Design School in Auckland, New Zealand.

Working from his Hastings’ studio, Mauricio has his own business called Studio Benega Ltd, a creative company dealing with creative art projects such as, exhibitions, murals, workshops, illustrations, design, commissions and paintings.

Mauricio’s work can be found in collections in New Zealand, Brazil, Australia, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland, Germany, USA, Bali and Singapore.
