Nic Tucker works full-time as a woodblock printmaker and creates imagery that predominantly focuses on our beautiful country – Aotearoa. ‘Our connection to our place’.
Her work is created by hand drawing the image on the key block, then it is carved. Works are created with multiple blocks; each colour block is carved to give tonal effects. Nic’s larger works take approximately 100 hrs to draw and carve before the printing process takes over. Each work is part of an edition, but is individually inked, which gives it its own unique look.
Nic has lived and worked from Invercargill to Kaitaia and places in between.
